What if I’m not photogenic?

Girl, it’s not your job to be photogenic. It’s our job to know the angles, the lighting, the lenses, and the poses to best showcase every beautiful thing about you. You come and relax. It’s our job to do the rest.

What should I wear?

Before you book, you’ll receive a complimentary styling consultation with Mayumi during which we’ll begin to plan your wardrobe. We’ll go through what to wear, what will help you look stunning on camera, even where to shop for those scroll stopping pieces. In addition to what you’ll bring, we have a collection of gowns, bodysuits and accessories Mayumi has curated over the years and they are all available to you during your session!

How do you design the looks?

We work from the wardrobe up. Each outfit inspires the hair & makeup, the background & lighting, even the color temperature of the light. If there are any images from our website / instagram that you resonate with, we’d love to know ahead of time to get a sense of your unique taste. Mayumi’s style is editorial, timeless and romantic and we will imbue that into each of your portraits, while making sure your gorgeous personality shines through.

What if I only want digitals?

Digitals and prints are the same price, we don’t have digital only packages. However, each image you purchase comes with its corresponding web-sized digital file. At our studio, you are purchasing a luxurious, custom shoot day (where you’ll be pampered by 3-4 creatives) as well as your portraits. We will spend significant time with you - from planning, to shooting to retouching your session. Each shoot takes a minimum of 24 hours. As beautiful and luxe as our products are (you will love them!), it’s equally about time and demand. After Mayumi finishes retouching your portraits, you will receive an invitation to a private reveal session where you will see your final images and will choose your portrait collection and wall art. Upon payment of your collection, you will receive a link to download your digitals, your printed products will follow shortly after.

What kind of products does the studio offer?

After your session, we’ll present approx. 45 images to you in a private reveal & sales session. There, you’ll have the opportunity to choose your favorite images and select which portraits will be purchased. At Mayumi Acosta Photography we proud ourselves to offer the best finished prints in the industry, from beautiful handmade folio boxes, gorgeous coffee-table Albums to fine art prints and premium wall displays.  Whether your style is rustic vintage, fine art, or contemporary, our goal is to create legacy portraits that you feel so proud of that you’ll want to decorate the walls of your home with them. Not only this art will please you for years to come and impress your friends and family,  it will become a legacy that will be pass down for generations to come.
